Gotham represents a lot of things to a lot of people. Not all of them good.

[ The League of Assassins, the Court of Owls, the Black Glove... they're all the same, in the end. Vying for power as they play with the lives of innocents, lining the pockets of the corrupt or stealing capital from them for their own ends. The Magistrate has set up a monopoly even Lex Luthor would envy, and naturally, Talon wants a piece of the pie. They almost make perfect partners, really-- and the furthest extent of that risk might present itself if Dick and Hana don't undertake this mission. ]

The mech looks like it's seen some improvements. Definitely sounds like it runs even quieter.

[ He doesn't want to give too much away. Despite staying on guard, it's hard for him not to give Hana an appraising glance... so he makes it all about her mech instead. Form-fitting suits, practical yet playing to their aesthetic strengths: it's one thing they've always had in common. And one reason among many that a long time ago, the pull between them was magnetic. How much of it does she still feel, he wonders? How much of it does he feel? ]

Would be nice to hitchhike. You sure it won't be too cramped in there?

[ That was supposed to be a practical question. Yet despite his every intention, old habits. So he clears his throat, heeding more of Hana's remarks. ]

Got operatives on standby who'll box in any stragglers. The point isn't so much to hit them on arrival, but keep them from escaping the city.

So in a way, we are giving them shelter. But more accurately, specialized cells in Arkham Asylum.

[ Despite everything, Hana's veneer of confidence is infectious. Her readiness to help him gives Dick faith that this war is winnable. He's arranged it with Winston such that Hana must also know it, but it's a favor for a favor. Routing the Magistrate will give Dick the time and allowance to help Overwatch with their own struggles. Amidst all this, he's already sent his own operatives to them as backup... but never himself.

Dick simply knows that no matter the occasion, there's nothing quite like Nightwing showing up. The soul of the superhero community, bridging generations new and old. It was not a position he took on arrogantly, like it was an honor owed to him just for being Robin. It was a burden he earned, forged in fire-- a recognition that the Justice League wouldn't let him forget. And here it is, exacting its toll. A lot is simply riding on Nightwing. In many ways, it always has.

To make good on that, Dick conjures a holographic readout from one of his gauntlets. It presents a map of Gotham City, pinpointing the areas of interest for their mission. ]

Three bridges connect Gotham to the mainland. Intel suggests three different caravans are arriving simultaneously, one on each bridge. Two new enforcers per bridge, with an entourage of humans and omnics courtesy of Talon.

As an exception, one more caravan is travelling by boat. Soon, you'll know why.

[ Another readout emerges. Red Robin's dossiers. For each, Dick consults the legend on the map and points at each item's corresponding location. ]

Five. The Robert Kane Memorial Bridge. Firefly and Electrocutioner.

Eleven. Trigate Bridge. Deadshot and Komodo.

Forty-four. Burnside Bridge. Prometheus and Copperhead.

And from the south, coming to fifty-five by boat. Blackgate Isle. Killer Croc and Orca.

[ Yet one more readout appears, but smaller this time. It shows that he's copying every schematic to Hana's mech. ]

While we're comparing notes, I could use an update on your ride... specs and all.
